When you were first working with other producers and maybe it wasn't feeling quite right yet, did you know what it was that needed to happen?

Yeah, when you're starting out, people know that you're green, they know that you're young and that you want to sing, I think they want to direct you into where they want you to go. So I said, "okay, all right, I really like more R&B sounds, but okay. So I did that that I ended up getting a demo reel of so many different genres of music. It would stretch from a Celine Dion song over here, to an R&B song over here, to some kind of country thing going on. So when people who listen to it they'd say 'this is all nice but where do you want to be, we don't get which area of music you want to be in?" Then I started to realize that I had to stick with what I want to do as an artist and if no one buys it, no one buys it but I have to stay true to my heart. Sticking to your heart is really important and what you believe in.
